An important source on pre-Socratic philosophy. In antiquity, Heraclitus was known as the `Obscure`, famous for his aphoristic, riddling style. Only about 100 fragments of his treatise on nature have survived, presenting challenging problems of interpretation. This edition is addressed to the non-specialist, elucidates Heraclitus` philosophy of universal flux, the human soul, paradox and harmony.
